Hi, I’m Brenda Martin, founder and owner of Soulful Gatherings and I believe that our life journey, with all its joys and sorrows, gains and losses, highs and lows is meant to be embraced, acknowledged, honoured and celebrated. I offer a variety of services to support that journey through opportunities to gather with others or to explore on your own.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and have invested most of my career in the caring professions and social services field. I have always been interested in hearing people’s stories, and have a passion for spiritual growth and practice as well as holistic health and wellness. This interest in both the science and art of healthy hearts, minds and souls, has led me to study in Aromatherapy and the Canadian School of Earth and Soul (Celtic Consciousness). I am a Level 2 Reiki Therapist, Certified Myers-BriggsPractitioner™, Black Pearl Practitioner and am a Bardic Member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. I am also an ANFT Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide™ and Certified Tarot Professional. I am a graduate of the Ontario Jubilee Program in Spiritual Direction and a member of Spiritual Directors International and Spiritual Niagara.
My own interest and commitment to celebrating life’s journey, has led me to embark on a career as a Life Event Celebrant and Wedding Officiant. Always a lover of the written word, I have enjoyed honing my skills and interests into developing bespoke soulful, meaningful life event ceremonies. As an independent celebrant, I am not restricted by religious dogma, customs, time or place. I can include anything of importance to you, whether that is traditionally religious, personally spiritual, symbolic or a combination of all or any. Each ceremony is unique, but, if it would be helpful to you, I am able to offer you a vast selection of sample ceremonies and suggestions for readings, music and poems to choose or, of course, you may provide your own.
I am a marriage officiant licensed by the Government of Ontario under the Marriage Act. and am a Minister with the Bancroft Centre for Awakening Spiritual Growth Metaphysical Ministry. I am available to officiate legal weddings in the Province of Ontario, and to celebrate celebrations of life, funerals, handfastings, renewal of vows, same-sex marriages, namings, memorials, divorce healing, house blessings and other rites of passage, such as croning ceremonies.
Located in Welland, my Wedding Officiant and Celebrant services are available in the Niagara Region and throughout southern Ontario.
